To help baby grow up more quickly, repeat the activations described for each stage. In addition to activations, a period of time will need to pass between stages. Legs are not posable and should be left in the correct position for each stage. Her legs will move as she grows.
- Movement (being rocked)

What can I do if my Baby Alive Baby Grows Up doll is not working properly?
- Be sure you are using new, strong alkaline batteries. Do not mix battery brands or old batteries with new batteries.
- Put doll flat on a table with both legs extended against the table.
- Hold one leg down while pulling the other leg all the way up to the doll's face until it makes a click sound.
- Repeat the same for the other leg. Both legs should now be in the correct position to move through the motions.
- From here, you can continue play, or you can turn the doll off and on again to start back at the infant stage. If needed, repeat steps 3-5.
How do I activate my Baby Alive Baby Grows Up doll?
STAGE 1: NEWBORN
- When removed from box, doll will turn ON.
- On first bottle feeding, she will open her eyes to reveal color.
- Remove hat to reveal hair color, but leave her swaddle blanket on.
- Feeding and rocking your newborn will help her grow and cause her to respond with sounds and movements. After a period of time, she will kick out of her swaddle blanket!
STAGE 2: BABY
- Feeding, active play (bouncing movements) and pressing her bracelet heart will help her grow and cause her to respond with words and movement.
- Listen closely to hear her first word and ensure language preference is set correctly — press bracelet heart for 10 seconds to change.
- Note: Doll will remember the selected language even after turned back on.
- By default, doll comes in Mommy mode. If this is not the preferred mode, slide switch to Daddy mode.
- When she is ready to stand and grow, she will ask you to hold her hands and press down on her bracelet’s heart
STAGE 3: BIG GIRL
- Active play (bouncing movements) and pressing her bracelet heart will cause her to respond with phrases.
- Use gentle force to extend baby’s hair in stages until the fully-grown position is reached: “click – click – click.” (Hair will only get shorter when doll is reset.)
How do I return my Baby Alive Baby Grows Up doll to newborn mode?
- Newborn-Baby-Big Girl play cycle can be repeated over & over.
- To reset & return to Newborn, turn her OFF & back ON again in Mommy or Daddy mode.
Note: After turning back ON, ensure doll’s legs are clicked into Newborn’s correct leg position before re-swaddling
